Simon R. Graf
Simon’s practice deals with all aspects of labor and employer/employee relations, general litigation, and ERISA litigation. He handles a wide range of employment matters for businesses, with a focus on avoiding liability under the host of laws and regulations impacting the workplace.
Simon works with clients to prepare key employment documents, including employee handbooks, trade secrets/confidentiality agreements, and separation agreements, and he supports the litigation department at Smith & Downey with all aspects of labor and employment and ERISA litigation.
Before attending law school, Simon spent almost ten years working as a software engineer and project manager in the defense sector supporting intelligence and national security initiatives.
While in law school, Simon worked as an editor on the Journal of Business & Technology Law, completed an internship with the Appellate Court of Maryland, dedicated more than 260 hours representing clients as a student patent attorney in Maryland Carey Law’s Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic (IPEC), served as a research assistant, and volunteered as a Peer Advisor.
Upon graduating, Simon was one of five students to receive The Joseph Bernstein Prize for having submitted the most significant piece of legal writing for publication.
