Workplace Harassment Seminar - January 10, 2018
Since the passage of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, employers have been vulnerable to employee claims of sexual harassment. The defense of these claims is expensive, and the cost of losing a sexual harassment lawsuit can be devastating. Additionally, sexual harassment in the workplace is a degrading influence that undermines employee morale and productivity.
The tsunami of recent high-profile stories about sexual harassment and the resulting “Me Too” campaign emphasizes that this area presents a significant potential liability for employers. Unfortunately, not all employers take the steps necessary to achieve a harassment-free workplace. In addition, most employers are ill-prepared to respond to harassment complaints that are not raised through official channels but are publicized on social media sites like Facebook.
We will be offering a seminar focused exclusively on workplace harassment, including steps that employers can take to protect both the employer and employees from the harm associated with such unlawful behavior.
The seminar will be held on January 10, 2018 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Abilities Network, 8503 LaSalle Road, Towson, MD 21286.
As always, there is no charge for the seminar. Please contact Alison Christian at achristian@smithdowney.com or (410) 321-9000 to register. (Light refreshments will be served.)
